BHC has over 60 members of staff who work in specialised teams including Housing Management and Asset Services, Project Development, Business Development, Financial Services and Administration Services.

Our Management Team leads our larger staff team and is headed up by our CEO Stuart Lummis.

Stuart Lummis

Chief Executive Officer

Stuart Lummis is the Chief Executive Officer with BHC. Stuart brings 36 years of experience as a senior executive in ASX-listed groups, government agencies and not-for-profit organisations. Prior to working for BHC, Stuart was the Director of Building, Planning Facilities and Property with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, where he was directly responsible for the management of the Archdiocese of Brisbane’s complex property portfolio, compromising in excess of 450 individual diverse properties.

Stuart proudly sits on the board for several organisations, including Bolton Clarke (formerly RSL Care RDNS) and Brisbane Markets Limited, and is a member of several committees within these organisations. Additionally he is a member of the Property Council of Queensland, sitting on the Retirement Living Committee and Chairing the National Trust of Queensland Advocacy Committee.

Stuart has a Bachelor of Economics, Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, Diploma in Project and Construction Management, and is also a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Rebecca Oelkers

Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer

Rebecca Oelkers is Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer with BHC. Rebecca has worked in the field of community and affordable housing for the past 13 years undertaking a variety of affordable housing projects including the project management and  formation of the Gold Coast Housing Company for which she was the inaugural CEO. Rebecca was also instrumental in the set-up of Catalyst Affordable Housing partnering with LNG proponents to provide affordable housing in regional Queensland.  Rebecca has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts and has presented at National, State and Local housing forums on housing affordability issues.

Peter Garrone

Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary

Peter Garrone is the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary and brings 20 years of corporate finance, treasury, accounting, and commercial experience to BHC. Peter has worked both in Australia and overseas across multiple industries with a particular focus on the property development and engineering sectors (civil construction and mining services). In these roles he has successfully negotiated and raised corporate and project specific funding (equity, mezzanine, bank and bond) to facilitate business growth. Peter has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.
