We believe providing opportunities to connect and engage with each other is key when creating liveable communities.

Integral to this aim is a robust, ongoing process of tenant engagement which seeks input from our tenants on the management of their housing and which looks to empower tenants to improve their lives in other ways.

We wish to encourage each and every one of our tenants, residents and owners to get involved and do their part to establish and maintain vibrant, healthy neighbourhoods where people feel safe and connected.

Homeless Connect

Date: Thursday 28th June
Time: 9:00am – 2:00pm
Location: Brisbane Racing Club, Doomben Racecourse (Hampden Street, Ascot)

Homeless Connect is a FREE event for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness – get a hand and get connected.

Access free support services, haircuts, legal help, medical care, clothing and accommodation referrals.

Enjoy a meal and activities in a welcoming environment.

BCC Active Parks

Date: July – December
Location: Various parks across Brisbane

Brisbane City Council’s Active Parks program offers activities for all ages at more than 50 local parks across Brisbane. Use the free or low cost activities to help improve your health, fitness and well-being or to meet new people.

Open Men's Group of Brisbane North

Date: Starting Wednesday 23rd May, running every 4th Wednesday of each month.
Time: 6:45pm for 7pm start
Location: Ithaca Hall, Cnr Enoggera and Kennedy Tce, Red Hill

Men’s Well-being is relaunching the monthly Open Men’s Group with a new venue and night.

The Open Men’s Group is open to all men, meaning:
– No RSVP needed
– No cost for entry; and
– No men’s group experience needed.

Mt Gravatt Community Centre NDIS Sessions

Date: First Thursday of the month (5th Jul, 2nd Aug, 6th Sept, 4th Oct, 1st Nov & 6th Dec)

Location: Mt Gravatt Community Centre, 1693 Logan Road, Mt Gravatt

The Mt Gravatt Community Centre is providing individual sessions to answer questions and help guide people to access the NDIS.

To be eligible to access the NDIS, you must:

  • – Have a permanent impairment that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities, or have a developmental delay;
  • – Be aged less than 65 when you first apply to enter the NDIS;
  • – Live in Australia in an NDIS area (rollout in Brisbane is 1 July 2018); and
  • – Be an Australian citizen, or hold a permanent visa or a Protected Special Category visa.

Women's 'Building Emotional Success Together' Workshops

– Build greater emotional balance
– Improve self-awareness and build respectful relationship skills

Certificate II in Business Course for Women

Date: Course starts 23rd July, 3 days a week
Location: Milton (close to bus and train)

Do you wish to gain your Certificate II in Business qualification at no cost at all?

Queensland Fitness Sport and Recreation Skills Alliance is running a 12 week program for women looking to enter or re-enter the workforce – fully funded by the Queensland Government.

– Accredited training – BSB20115 Certificate II in Business (RTO 90032)
– Support in job search, resume preparation and interview skills
– Work experience with local state sport organisations
– Dress for Success – a new work outfit, including shoes and handbag – yes you read that right!
– 3 days per week, based in Milton (close to bus and train)

Footprints Art Therapy Group

What is the Art Therapy Group?
The Art Therapy Group is an interactive group and uses art to find elements of balanced healing which is unique to you, to be present in the world of “Now”. Art Therapy is an approach that is non-threatening and does not require any artistic skills. It is predominately a non-verbal form of communication. It is not an art painting class.

Footprints Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Group - Every Wednesday

What is the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Group?
Be inspired about your recovery! WRAP is one of Footprints longest running group. Their facilitators will assist you to develop a self-designed recovery plan to become well and stay well.

Footprints Buried in Treasure Group - 15 sessions over 20 weeks

Date: Starts 22/02/18 – 15 Sessions over 20 weeks

Do you need help with hoarding? This workshop is about more than clutter – it’s about people. It’s a 20 week program, led by people with lived experience and/or experience working in the area of hoarding.

Footprints SMART Recovery Group - Every Friday

Date: Every Friday, Starting: 05/01/2018
Time: 10:00  – 11:30am

Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) Recovery is a free group assisting with behaviours- including addiction to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, food, shopping, internet and others. Guided by trained professionals, participants come to help themselves and help each other using a variety of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and motivational tools and techniques.

Footprints Mind and Body Awareness Group

What is Mind and Body Awareness Group?
The Mind and Body Awareness Group has been designed to increase your understanding in stress and anxiety, and learn self-soothing strategies to help yourself in distressing situations. This group will help you get in touch with your body and respond to the signals. The group also explores many practical activities which you can take away and apply in your life.

Communify's - Let's Eat Together - Every Friday
